Amp Traction

Amp Overdrive Energy Drink Review – enjoy the grape flavor, but don’t expect this drink to be the wind beneath your wings all day.

This specific blend of power ingredients in this drink is meant for sustained energy, with increased amounts of D-Ribose and Maltodextrin. Unfortunately this reviewer found it to have the opposite effect. After a couple of hours of great energy came a total crash.

Amp Traction gives a great first impression, tasting like your childhood grape soda with a little kick, all in a shiny purple can.

Ultimately, Traction is a deliciously grape-enfused burst of energy, but doesn’t live it to its claim to sustain.

Amp Overdrive Energy Drink Review

Friday, November 6th, 2009

Amp Overdrive Energy Drink Review – easy to drink and enjoy, if you’re an energy drink veteran.

Like the original Amp, Overdrive has a good blend of energy ingredients.

It’s worth a try, but we’ve found that there are many energy drinks at the local gas station that are more enjoyable to drink.

This drink is over-carbonated and the aftertaste would be nearly gag-worthy for someone new to energy drinks. I do prefer the slightly sweeter taste of Overdrive to the original Amp.

If you’re a big fan of the Mountain Dew line, you should adapt to the new flavors just fine.

Twisted Chopper Energy Drink Review

Thursday, March 5th, 2009

Twisted Chopper Energy Drink Review: from the team that brought you the Wired drinks, this can features a skull on the front. So it’s gotta be a pretty tough drink, right?

Twisted Chopper has decent caffeine kick. Interestingly, this is the same drink – at least according to the ingredient listing – as Wired x5000 Taurine.

The drink is a generic citrus energy drink flavor.

Twisted Chopper was a pretty disappointing drink.

I’m not sure what I was expecting, based on the name, and the skull (with horns) on the can. I think I anticipated something a little more dangerous or something. But this drink was incredibly boring.

If you’re in a motorcycle gang, you now have an energy drink to go with your leather jacket. That’s about as extensive of a niche market as Unique Beverage Company (misnomer in this case?) has reached with this drink.

Stick to the Wired drinks, guys.

Full Throttle Fury Energy Drink Review

Thursday, March 5th, 2009

From the Full Throttle line of energy drinks, this is the cherry-flavored Fury.

The boost is nothing unique, a good three to four hours feeling more alert, for me.

This is the cherry-flavored version of Coca Cola’s Full Throttle drink. The first sip is pretty good – just the slight energy drink aftertaste you almost take for granted.

After a couple more chugs, I realized this drink is sweeter than a Hallmark ad with little teddy bears, and it gets old really fast. My mouth and tongue are buzzing with the sweetness before I’m half way through the can.

If you like overkill on cherry flavoring, then this is the caffeine-injected, cherry kool-aid drink of your dreams.  As much as I appreciate the original Full Throttle, it’s Fury-ous cousin is way too sweet for its own good.
